TokGrab FAQ

Is this a SaaS product?

No. TokGrab is a self-hosted script. You buy it once, install it on your own hosting, and control your own domain, keys, and ads.

Do I need SSH, a terminal, or Composer to install it?

No. Installation is browser-first — upload the files, point your domain at public/, and open /install. The wizard handles the rest, including creating your application key.

Which hosting is supported?

Hostinger hPanel, standard cPanel shared hosting, and VPS environments meeting the PHP/MySQL requirements (see the Environment Matrix).

What PHP version and database do I need?

PHP 8.3+ with MySQL 8+ or MariaDB 10.6+. The installer checks your PHP extensions for you.

Does the package include API keys?

No. You supply your own API provider/keys. TokGrab supports five providers — RapidAPI (default), TikWM, TikAPI, a custom endpoint, and Apify — see the API Providers Guide.

Which API provider should I use?

Start with RapidAPI (the default) since it is the simplest to set up. You can switch to TikWM, TikAPI, a custom endpoint, or Apify later without losing your other provider settings.

Can I add my own API?

Yes. Use the Custom endpoint provider and point it at any API that follows TokGrab's three request paths (/user/info, /user/posts, and / for a single video).

Can I change branding, logo, and colors?

Yes. Use Admin → Settings → Branding and Support and Logo and Visuals. Logo and favicon are uploaded directly (no manual URLs needed).

What themes are included?

Four free themes ship built in: Cyber Matrix (default), Luxe Noir, Neon Storm, and Volt Grid. Switch between them any time in Extensions → Themes.

Are there paid add-ons?

Yes — two optional add-ons (not required to run the site):

  • Clean SaaS — a premium light, product-style public theme
  • SEO Engine Pro — a premium SEO module

They appear as locked "Buy" cards inside Extensions. See the Themes & Extensions guide.

How do I install a theme or plugin I bought?

Open Extensions Marketplace → Add Theme or Add Plugin, choose the official .zip, and click Install. For a locked add-on you can also click I have a license to jump straight to the upload tab.

Do I need cron or a scheduler?

No — core features work without cron. sitemap.xml and robots.txt are served dynamically. A cron entry is only needed if you add scheduled jobs later (see the Installation Guide).

Can I add pages without coding?

Yes. Use Admin → Custom Pages to create content pages and place them in the header or footer menu.

Can I add AdSense or custom ad scripts?

Yes. Ad slots are managed in Admin → Settings → Monetization. Unsafe markup (inline handlers, javascript: URLs) is blocked automatically.

Are default admin credentials included?

No. There are no seeded credentials — you create your admin account during installation. This is a deliberate security choice.

Is an installer included?

Yes. The browser installer runs these steps:

  1. Environment check
  2. Database setup
  3. Migrations
  4. Admin creation
  5. Finalize + install lock

Can I reinstall?

Yes. Delete storage/app/installed.lock, recreate the database, and reopen /install. This wipes your content, so back up first.

Why don't my uploaded logo or favicon show up?

They should — TokGrab serves uploaded images automatically even on hosts that block symlinks. If an image doesn't show, re-check the upload in Admin → Settings → Logo and Visuals. With SSH you can optionally also run php artisan storage:link for faster static serving.

TokGrab is provider-agnostic and ships with no API keys. You are responsible for complying with your provider's terms and applicable law, including TikTok's terms and copyright rules.
